Eritrean strangled woman, 19, until she almost passed out while raping her
An Eritrean migrant who went on the run after strangling and raping a 19-year-old woman has been jailed for eight years. Fikadu Yemane, 29, originally from the north-east African country but living in Manchester, already knew the victim and on 16th July 2025 they arranged via social media to meet up in the city centre.
