Prince Harry and Meghan have moved their children to another school after just two days, bringing competing accounts of a security scare into focus: a family decision described as practical and protective, and criticism that the problems should have been foreseen.
Reports across outlets say term-time congestion turned what had been expected to be a 30-minute trip into an hour-long journey. During one school run, the family’s vehicles reportedly struggled to remain in convoy; the security team had tested the route during the quieter summer holidays rather than in normal traffic.1 The children have since begun at a different school, with a shorter commute reported to be more manageable for the protection team.
The move also followed claims that screenshots from a parents’ WhatsApp group circulated online after Meghan joined. The messages allegedly included her introductory post, prompting people close to the couple to say it was disappointing that private information had been shared.2 That element has reinforced the Sussexes’ argument that the issue extended beyond an inconvenient journey.

Critics, however, have concentrated on the planning.
