Coronation Street legend details upset as bosses made key change to character
Former Coronation Street star Tristan Gemmill, who played Robert Preston, the former husband of show stalwart Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) has admitted he wasn't happy with how show writers changed his character in the build up to his exit. The 59-year-old was on the cobbles for four and a half years from from July 2015 to December 2019. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk in a break from rehearsals for his new role in the touring stage production of Twelve Angry Men he reflected on his exit from the soap saying: "They did turn me into a little bit of a villain at the end when I left, because I two-timed Michelle.
