A statement shared by Cole, Live Nation and the venue said the performance had been cancelled following “the tragic passing of a member of the touring crew in a trucking accident this morning.”¹ It added: “Our thoughts are with the crew member’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”¹

Both accounts say the driver was transporting equipment from Cole’s previous Seattle date when the semi-truck left southbound Interstate 5 near Woodland, California, and overturned. One report identified the deceased as Jarlath Parkinson, 66, of Jackson, South Carolina, and said the Yolo County Coroner’s Office did not believe drugs or alcohol were factors.¹
