Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski have confirmed they are separating after nine years of marriage, ending a relationship they largely kept out of the public eye.

The two right-wing reports agree on the central point: Seyfried, 40, and Sadoski, 50, said they had already been apart before making the news public. One account quotes their joint statement: “We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit.”¹

That report presents the split in the context of a relationship that began professionally. The actors met in 2015 during the off-Broadway production The Way We Get By, later worked together on The Last Word, and began dating in 2016. They became engaged that year and eloped in March 2017, shortly before the birth of their daughter; their son was born in 2020.¹

The same account stresses the conciliatory tone of the statement, in which the pair said, “We’ve got each other forever—and it’s GOOD.”¹ It also notes that the family had lived on a farm in upstate New York and generally maintained a low profile.

A second report offers a more concise confirmation, likewise saying the actors had been separated “for a while” when they announced the split on Tuesday.² Unlike the first, it provides little additional background on their courtship or family life.

Together, the reports portray the announcement less as a sudden rupture than as a decision the couple say was reached over time. Neither report identifies a reason beyond the pair’s statement that the move was right for their family unit.
